Martin County, NC is a place small enough that people still throw up their hands as they meet their neighbors driving down the road. You can go to Martin Supply in downtown Williamston, and get anything from hoop cheese to appliances, and some of the retired gentlemen in the area will be kind enough to tell you a few lies and share a few laughs.
Agriculture has always played a huge role in Martin County. Fields of tobacco, cotton,
corn and peanuts dot the landscape. However, Greenville, home of East Carolina
University is within a 30 minute drive and Raleigh, the state capital with it's large international airport is only a short two hour drive away.
Martin County is two hours from the most beautiful beaches in the United States, and twelve hours from our beautiful mountain ranges that North Carolina is so famous for.
